Portátil a 100 dólares
Nicholas Negroponte ha anunciado las especificaciones del ordenador portátil (fotos) que el MIT Media Lab planea fabricar en masa por 100 dólares cada uno.
Tendrá un microprocesador a 500 MHz, 1 GB de RAM, Wi-Fi y correrá Linux. La pantalla podrá funcionar en dos modos: a color o en blanco y negro, para la lectura al sol. Aparte de la alimentación convencional con baterías, también se podrá cargar con bocadillos de nocilla, manivela mediante.
De momento no se planea la comercialización. La idea es que los gobiernos compren los portátiles a 100 dólares y luego los distribuyan gratuitamente entre los escolares.
